Inside the Wild Coast Design Process: What Happens After Your Flowers Are Dried

Discover what happens during the design stage at Wild Coast Flower Preservation. After your flowers finish drying, our expert designers create your custom layouts, guide you through revisions, and offer color correction if needed. This stage is a true collaboration—your feedback shapes the final keepsake. Learn how communication, design approvals, and our careful process ensure you’ll love your preserved bouquet for years to come.

You’ve waited patiently for your flowers to dry—now comes the most exciting part: the design stage! Here’s exactly what happens when your bouquet enters our design room, and why your feedback is so important.

Step 1: Your Flowers Enter the Design Queue

After 8–12 weeks of careful drying, your flowers are ready for their transformation. Our floral designers open your order, review all order notes, and—most importantly—look at any fresh bouquet photos you’ve sent.

Tip: Sending a clear photo of your bouquet within the first 8 weeks helps us match your vision, spot anything that’s missing, and suggest replacements if needed! Multiple photos of the bouquet at different angles is helpful for color correction and flower sourcing.

Step 2: First Design Presentation

For each item in your order, we create and present one thoughtful design. You’ll receive detailed images of the proposed layout. This is your chance to see your flowers come to life and let us know if you’re happy with the design or if you want any changes.

  • Want color correction? Partial flower replacement? Let us know at this stage!

  • Every customer receives up to three complimentary revision rounds—this protects your flowers from over-handling and ensures you get a piece you love.

Behind the scenes: We use tweezers and special tools to move flowers, keeping finger oils away and minimizing damage. The less we touch, the better your flowers will look in the final piece!

Step 3: Color Correction (If Selected)

If you’ve paid for color correction in advance or add it at the design stage, here’s how it works:

  • We first send your initial design without color correction for your review and approval.

  • Once you approve the design layout, we proceed with color correction (this adds about 2 weeks to your timeline).

  • After color correction, we redesign your order with the newly corrected flowers and send photos for your final approval.

  • Matching difficult flower colors may take a few rounds—each additional color correction revision will add about 2 weeks to the process.

Step 4: The Importance of Your Feedback

The design stage is where your voice matters most. We want you to be honest and specific—if you don’t love the design, please tell us! The dreaded phrase, “I guess it’s okay, you’re the expert,” doesn’t help us create a piece you’ll truly cherish. Designs are deeply personal, and we welcome revisions—about 30% of orders are revised before final approval. You won’t offend us! You can communicate your revision with detailed description or by marking up the photo with areas of concern.

Step 5: What Happens When You Request a Revision

Something you might not expect: every time a revision is requested, we carefully disassemble the design and store it back in its container. This is necessary because of our order volume and limited space—designs can’t stay assembled between rounds. When you’re ready, we rebuild your design from scratch, just for you.

Step 6: Communication & Timeline

We rely heavily on back-and-forth communication at this stage. After sending your design, if we don’t hear back, we follow up in two weeks. If there’s still no response, we’ll reach out by text or phone. Orders can sit in design for months if needed—your flowers are safe!—but after two months without approval, we may move forward to keep things on track.

Our Promise

The design process is a true collaboration. We’re here to guide you, answer questions, and make revisions—because your keepsake should be as unique as your story. Speak up, get involved, and let’s create something you’ll love for a lifetime!
