Flower Preservation FAQs

Looking for expert flower preservation in Florida or nationwide? Wild Coast Flower Preservation specializes in wedding bouquet preservation, memorial flower keepsakes, pressed flower frames, resin keepsakes, and custom floral art from our Pompano Beach, FL studio.

Use this page to learn about ordering, shipping, flower care, customization, timelines, payment, gifting, and long-term preservation.

Before You Order

How do I place an order?

Order directly through our Shop Flower Preservation page. Choose your preservation products, select customizations, and add them to your cart.

One bouquet can become multiple keepsakes, including serving trays, wall art, coasters, jewelry, and ornaments. If you are unsure what your bouquet can make, contact us for help planning your order.

We accept advance and last-minute orders for wedding bouquet preservation, memorial flower preservation, and special events.

Do I need a reservation?

Save the Date Reservations are optional, but highly recommended for weddings and time-sensitive events. The $50 deposit secures your spot and is applied to your final order.

After reserving, you will receive a coupon code and instructions by email. We will also remind you to submit your final order two weeks before your event.

Destination Weddings & Flower Press Kits

Getting married out of state or abroad?

We offer options for destination weddings, elopements, and travel events.

Our Travel Flower Press Kit lets you press select blooms on-site and ship them to us after returning home. Pressed flowers work well for frames, wall art, jewelry, and other flat keepsakes.

If you cannot bring flowers home, we can discuss bouquet replication or similar flower sourcing.

Flower Care Before Shipping

What if my flowers are more than 5 days old or wilting?

Contact us and send a photo. Your flowers may still be usable, especially because a little bouquet can go a long way.

We will guide you toward either whole flower preservation or pressed flower preservation. Air-dried or frozen bouquets often work better in thicker pieces like bouquet blocks, bookends, or ring holders.

Air-dried flowers are usually not ideal for trays, coasters, wall art, or drinkware because they become thicker and brittle. They may also show darker centers, bubbles, or spotting in resin.

How should I care for my bouquet over the weekend before shipping?

If your event is on a weekend, care for your flowers until shipping Monday or Tuesday.

  • Cut stems at a 45-degree angle under running water.
  • Place the bouquet in fresh, clean water and change water every 1 to 2 days.
  • Remove flowers from floral foam when possible.
  • Store in a cool room or refrigerator if needed, but do not freeze.
  • Remove fruits, vegetables, and rotting foods from the refrigerator because they release ethylene gas.
  • Add flower food if available.
  • Remove flowers from water before packing.

Ship overnight or order our prepaid overnight shipping label.

Shipping & Delivery

How can I get shipping instructions before I order?

We can share flower shipping instructions and a packing video before you order. You can also review our Shipping Policy.

Our shipping address is only provided after an order is placed, and all flower shipments must include your order number on or inside the package.

How do I ship my flowers for preservation?
  1. Order first through Shop Flower Preservation.
  2. Use a sturdy shoebox-size to medium box, dry paper towels, tape, scissors, and a marker.
  3. Cut flowers from stems and wrap each bloom in a dry paper towel.
  4. Do not add water, wet napkins, plastic bags, or floral foam unless instructed.
  5. Write your order name, order number, and phone number on or inside the box.
  6. Ship within 5 days of your event using overnight or express shipping.
  7. Avoid weekends and holidays. Send us your tracking information.

Drop off before the carrier’s overnight cutoff. Most locations stop accepting overnight packages by 5:00 pm, but each location is different.

Purchase a prepaid overnight shipping label or watch the packing video.

Do you offer same-night bouquet pickup service?

Yes. We offer bouquet pickup across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and the northern Florida Keys in our Wild Coast Flower Car.

For wedding night pickup, we usually collect flowers between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm after the bouquet is no longer in use. Schedule through our Bouquet Pickup Service.

Do you accept international orders?

We currently serve all 50 U.S. states. For international inquiries, contact us first. A Travel Flower Press may be the best option.

We do not recommend shipping bouquets internationally because of high costs, customs delays, and flower damage risk. Flowers should ideally be in transit for only 1 to 2 days.

If international flowers arrive damaged, we may recommend bouquet replacement or color correction.

What if my flowers are lost or damaged in transit?

If flowers arrive damaged, we will assess them and discuss options, which may include partial or full bouquet replication.

If cancellation is needed, our standard policy applies: 90% refund if flowers have not been preserved or processed, and 50% refund if preservation has begun.

If your package is lost, claim responsibility depends on the label. If you used our prepaid label and dropped it off on time, we will file the claim. If you bought your own label, you will file directly with the carrier.

Process & Timeline

How long does flower preservation take?

Our typical turnaround time is about 4 to 5 months from the day your bouquet arrives at our Pompano Beach studio to shipment of your completed keepsake.

You will receive photo updates and design previews. The design approval stage can extend the timeline if revisions are requested, approval is delayed, or services like color correction or flower replacement are added.

If we do not hear back after sending your design, we will follow up. After 2 months without approval, we may move forward to keep production on track.

What happens after my flowers arrive?

Preservation & Drying: Flowers are assessed, dried, and queued for design, usually 8 to 13 weeks.

Design Stage: You receive design photos for approval and may request up to 2 complimentary revisions.

Resin Process: Approved designs are cast in resin through multiple layers, curing, and quality checks.

Finishing: Pieces are demolded, sanded, buffed, photographed, and shipped or prepared for pickup.

Review shipping details on our Shipping Policy page.

Will my flowers change during preservation?

Yes. Drying removes moisture, which can change color, texture, and shape. Orange flowers may turn yellow, and white flowers may become off-white or yellowed.

Hydrangea, peonies, orchids, lilies, anthurium, and roses may develop translucent spots in resin. These changes are natural and depend on the flower.

We offer Color Correction to enhance lost color and Bouquet Replication to replace damaged or unusable flowers.

Customization & Approvals

Can I customize my preservation piece?

Yes. Many items can include custom details for an added fee. Options may include inlaid text, names, dates, charms, jewelry, notes, religious tokens, photos, invitations, live-edge wood, engraving, painted edges, and backgrounds.

Many add-ons are available in our Services collection. Contact us if you have a special idea.

Will I get to approve my design?

Yes. You will receive an initial design photo before final casting in resin and may request up to 2 complimentary revisions.

Template-based items like trays, coasters, wall decor, and blocks receive a more exact preview. Free-form pieces like shot glasses, cups, vases, spheres, ring holders, and wine stoppers rely more on artisan placement.

If you are not satisfied with the design, do not approve it. Once cast in resin, the process is permanent.

Can I add to my order later?

We recommend placing your full order upfront so we can save the right amount of flowers for whole flower items and pressed flower items.

We only preserve enough blooms for your order plus a few extras. If leftover flowers are available at the design stage, we may offer add-on options. Leftover flowers are not returned by mail.

Care & Longevity

Does resin yellow?

The short answer is: it can, but we have worked hard to minimize that risk.

We have spent years testing resin formulas and working with a chemist to develop a more advanced, UV-resistant formula designed for long-term clarity and color stability.

Flowers and resin can still change gradually over time. Temperature fluctuations, long periods without climate control, direct sunlight, window placement, and boxed storage can accelerate yellowing or color changes.

Keeping your piece in a stable, climate-controlled space away from direct sunlight helps. Our Color Correction service can also help flowers become more resistant to visible color shifts.

How do I care for my preserved flowers?

Keep your piece out of direct sunlight, away from extreme heat, and in a stable climate-controlled space when possible.

Handle resin like fine art. Avoid dropping, sliding, scratching, stacking heavy items, submerging in water, or using a dishwasher.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. If storing, wrap each piece individually and keep it in a cool room.

What if my piece is damaged after delivery?

If your piece is chipped, scratched, cracked, or damaged after delivery, contact us. In many cases we can repair or remake it for a fee.

We will review the damage, explain your options, provide an estimate, and help you ship the piece back if needed.

Will my resin preservation have bubbles?

All resin items may have some bubbles because of the natural curing process. We use professional methods to reduce bubbles, but a 100% bubble-free result is not always possible.

Micro bubbles are common with air-dried flowers and red roses because dried petals can release trapped air. A few bubbles are part of handmade resin art and do not qualify for refunds.

Policies & Payment

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy depends on order status. You can also review our Terms and Conditions.

  • Save the Date deposits are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations before flowers arrive are 90% refundable.
  • Cancellations after flowers are processed and preserved are 50% refundable.
  • Cancellations after design are 25% refundable.
  • No refunds are available after flowers are cast in resin.

Partial refunds usually take 3 to 5 business days to process.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible payment options at checkout, including PayPal Pay in 4. Select the option that works best for you during checkout.

What happens if the final product becomes lost in transit?

Once your order ships, you will receive final photos and tracking details. After the package is with the carrier, delivery is outside of our control, but we will help navigate the situation.

Optional Shipping Protection at checkout covers a free remake or full refund if your keepsake is lost, stolen, or damaged due to carrier mishandling. All shipments include standard $100 carrier insurance. Claims beyond that amount require Shipping Protection.

If you do not purchase Shipping Protection, we will help file a carrier claim, but claims are not always approved. If denied, we can discuss a fair remake rate using replacement flowers.

Registry & Gifting

How do I add Wild Coast to my wedding registry?

The easiest option is adding a Wild Coast Flower Preservation Gift Card to your registry. We can combine gift card credits into one checkout code when you provide the wedding date and card details.

If listing specific products, use links from our Gift Registry page, provide clear customization instructions, and have buyers use the shipping address you will be at 5 months after the wedding.

Zola users can also create a Cash Fund for Bouquet Preservation.

Partners & Corporate Gifts

Do you offer a partner program for wedding planners and event professionals?

Yes. Our Partner Program helps planners, florists, and event professionals offer premium flower preservation while we handle the process.

Partners can receive brochures, video sales tools, discount codes, client communication support, backlinks, co-branded materials, and priority support.

Do you offer corporate gifting or branded floral preservation?

Yes. We offer custom corporate gifts and branded floral preservation experiences, including branded trays, awards, decor, workshops, flower bars, demonstrations, and bulk order support.

These pieces work well for corporate events, employee recognition, client gifts, brand activations, trade shows, and executive decor.
