Is Wedding Bouquet Preservation Worth It? An Honest Look
Summary
For most couples, yes, wedding bouquet preservation is worth it, as long as you know what you're signing up for. Here's the short version:
- Cost: pieces start at $70 for a pair of pressed flower coasters and $220 for a 12x8 serving tray, and most couples turn one bouquet into a few keepsakes.
- Wait: about 5 months from the day your flowers arrive at our studio.
- Change: your petals will shift a little in resin and often turn slightly translucent. That's normal, and Color Correction helps.
- Payoff: trays, coasters and ring dishes you actually use every day, not a vase of dried flowers on a shelf.
- Not for you if: you need it in a few weeks or expect your exact wedding day colors.
Below is an honest look at each of those so you can decide.

What it actually costs
Price is usually the first question, so here are real starting prices from our shop today:
- 4 inch Round Pressed Flower Coaster Set: from $70
- 4 inch Round Pressed Flower Ornament: from $95
- Oval Ring Dish: from $130
- 12x8 Pressed Flower Serving Tray: from $220
- 5x5 Preserved Flower Bouquet Block: from $325
- 10x10 Floating Frame: from $330
Most couples turn one bouquet into a few pieces, which is why we built our preservation packages around the combinations people order together most. For the full price list, add-ons included, read How Much Does Wedding Bouquet Preservation Cost? Real Prices by Piece.
Is that a lot for flowers? Compared to the bouquet itself, often yes. The fairer comparison is to other things you keep from the wedding. Every piece is handmade by our team of 15 artisans: dried in silica gel, designed and shown to you for approval, cast in UV-resistant, food-safe epoxy resin, then taken through a 9-step sanding sequence to a 2000-grit mirror finish. You are paying for months of hands-on work, not a quick craft project. Flexible payment options, including PayPal Pay in 4, are available at checkout, and gift cards make it easy to put preservation on your registry.
The wait: about 5 months
This is the part that surprises people most. From the day your flowers arrive at our Pompano Beach studio, plan on about 5 months to a finished keepsake.
Most of that time is drying. Your flowers rest in silica gel for 8 to 12 weeks, because any moisture left in a petal will cause problems once it is sealed in resin. There is no honest shortcut for that step. After drying, you approve your design before anything is cast, with up to 2 complimentary revisions. How quickly you review and approve that design is the biggest factor you control. If you add Color Correction, plan on an extra 2 to 4 weeks.
The one deadline that falls on you is at the very start: fresh bouquets should reach our studio within about 5 days of your wedding. The second deadline is mid-way through the process when we ask you to approve or revise your order design. The rest is up to us!
If the wait feels long, it can help to think of it the way many couples do. Your keepsake arrives a few months into married life, right when the wedding starts to feel far away.

Your petals will change, and that is normal
We would rather tell you this now than have you be surprised later. Drying removes moisture, and that changes color, texture and shape. Orange flowers can drift toward yellow. White flowers can turn off-white. Once cast, petals often go slightly translucent, which some couples describe as looking a little darker or glassy in spots.
That translucency is normal and not a defect. It shows up most in orchids and tropical flowers, and hydrangeas, peonies, lilies, anthurium and roses can develop translucent spots too. You can read more in How Flower Colors Change During Preservation.
If your bouquet is full of tropical flowers or orchids, we recommend adding Color Correction from the start. It restores color that drying takes away, and you can see real before and after examples in our color correction gallery. One honest limit: color correction is not offered on flowers that were already dried before they reached us, so this is a decision to make while your bouquet is still fresh.

Pieces you use every day
Here is where preservation tends to earn its price. A dried bouquet in a vase sheds and gets dusty. A tray on your kitchen island or a ring dish on your nightstand becomes part of an ordinary Tuesday.
- Serving trays. Our trays use pressed flowers in a thin pour, so they stay light enough to carry. Handles go through drilled holes rather than being set in resin, so they are durable and replaceable if one is ever damaged.
- Coasters. Probably the most used piece in a home. A set of four can live on the coffee table.
- Ring dishes and ring holders. A small spot where your rings land every night.
- Ornaments. Out once a year, which makes it a moment you look forward to.
- Bouquet blocks and frames. These are display pieces. Blocks hold whole blooms in a deep pour, and frames turn pressed flowers into wall art.

One thing to know before you choose: the method is set up front. Whole flower pieces like blocks and pressed flower pieces like trays, coasters and frames are dried differently, so the method you pick for each piece cannot change later. We also preserve only enough flowers for the pieces you order plus a few extras for swaps or revisions, so plan your full order at the start. Our pressed flower preservation and whole flower preservation pages show what each method looks like.
When it might not be worth it for you
Preservation is not right for everyone, and we would rather you choose it with clear eyes.
- You need it soon. If you want a finished piece within a few weeks, the drying time alone rules that out.
- You expect wedding day colors exactly. Flowers are natural, and some change is part of the process even with color correction.
- Your budget is stretched. A smaller piece like coasters or an ornament is a lovely way to keep a few blooms. You do not need the whole bouquet in resin to have something meaningful.
- You enjoy DIY. Some people love the process of trying it at home. Our DIY vs. Professional Flower Preservation guide walks through the real differences.
How to protect your investment
If you decide to go ahead, a few choices make the biggest difference:
- Book before the wedding. A Save the Date reservation holds your spot for a $50 deposit applied to your final order. The deposit is non-refundable.
- Get your flowers to us fast. Within about 5 days of your wedding is the goal. Our overnight shipping label helps with cost.
- Take your time with the design. If something is not right, ask for a revision. Once cast in resin, the layout is permanent.
- Know the cancellation tiers. Cancellations are 90% refundable before flowers arrive, 50% after preservation, 25% after design, and not refundable after resin casting.
- Care for it like fine art. Keep pieces out of direct sunlight and away from extreme heat, and never put them in the dishwasher. See How to Care for Your Preserved Flower Art.
Frequently asked questions
Is bouquet preservation worth the money?
For couples who want a keepsake they use and see often, most feel it is. Starting with a smaller piece like coasters or an ornament is a good way to keep the cost in a comfortable range.
How long will I wait for my preserved bouquet?
About 5 months from the day your flowers arrive at our studio. Color correction adds 2 to 4 weeks.
Will my flowers look exactly like they did on my wedding day?
Not exactly. Drying and resin change color and texture, and petals often turn slightly translucent. Color correction helps bring back lost color, especially for tropical flowers.
What is the most practical piece to choose?
Serving trays, coasters and ring dishes get the most everyday use. Blocks and frames are better as display pieces.
Can I add more pieces later?
Only if extra flowers remain at the design stage, so we recommend ordering everything up front.
